It’s that time year again when budding bands from all over the borough come together to entertain crowds of fans as they compete for the much acclaimed BurySOUND 2006 title.
The annual band competition, organised by the borough council, gives 12 St Edmundsbury-based bands the opportunity to play in a prestigious venue with a professional setup. Even though the event has an overall winner, the main aim of the competition is to develop the talents of young people within the borough. The contest also attracts enthusiastic and dedicated crowds whose support is essential to the musicians on stage.
If you would like to take part in this year’s competition, you can download a copy of the entry form online at www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk by following the link from the home page. Alternatively, contact James Jenkins on 01284 757077 for a hard copy.
The deadline for entries is Friday 28 July 2006.
