Ashborn go through to the finals of BurySOUND

2 December, 2004

After three extremely competitive, exhilarating and entertaining heats in the BurySOUND competition involving a total of 15 bands, the line up is now complete for the finals on Saturday 11 December after Ashborn was announced the winner of heat three.

The third heat last Friday saw five bands rise to the occasion in their bid to join Animal Planet and The Secret Hairdresser in the finals. As always, all bands produced fantastic performances but there could only be one winner – and Ashborn stole the show.

The band who scoops the wining title on 11 December will walk away with £750 of equipment from Sounds Plus, two days at WestSuffolkCollege recording studio and the chance to play at other gigs within the borough. In addition, they will also receive two four-hour slots to play in the new Rehearsal Rooms opening in Bury St Edmunds in the New Year. The audience looks set to be packed and guesting at the finals will be last year’s winners Fur Elise.

Doors will open at 7pm and we’re expecting tickets to be a sell-out, so make sure you get yours now by buying them in advance at £5 each from the Bury St Edmunds bus and coach station, Hardcore Hobbies, MVC, Sounds Plus and Sunrise. Or call the credit card line on 01284 764667 (£5.50 including booking fee). If there are any tickets left they will be £6.50 on the door.  For more information on this year’s competition, e-mail BurySOUND@stedsbc.gov.uk, phone Jackie Smith on 01284 757077 or click on The Scene at www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk.
