Kings Road in Bury St Edmunds is to become a one way street to make life easier for pedestrians.
The section of the route between St Andrew’s Street South and the junction with Prospect Row will become one way on October 9 for an experimental period of up to 18 months. Traffic will be directed into the town centre from Parkway and along Robert Boby Way, and will use Kings Road to travel out of town. The section of Kings Road between the Prospect Row junction and Parkway will remain a two way street.
If the trial is a success, the pavements in Kings Road will be widened to make travelling both into and out of town along that route easier for pedestrians.
During the first six months of the order, you can comment on or object to the scheme by writing to the Corporate Director for Economy and Environment , St Edmundsbury House, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 3YS.
