Bushcraft for adventurous families

2 April, 2009

Families with a taste for adventure can join wilderness survival expert, Rob Bevington at West Stow Country Park from 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 15 April.

“The family bushcraft day in February generated astonishing interest so we were thrilled when Rob agreed to run a further session. It is a wonderful excuse to spend a day in the woods gaining practical survival skills that would stand the most intrepid family in good stead,” explained Edward Bartlett, Heritage Officer at West Stow.

Participants on this popular hands-on workshop will learn a wide range of useful survival and bushcraft techniques including fire making, shelter building, how to track animals and birds, and how to identify and use wild foods found locally and within the Park.

Tickets for the Forest Fun Family Bushcraft Day cost £12.50 for adults (16 and over) and £5 for accompanied children 5 – 15 yrs. Places are limited and booking is essential so please call 01284 728718. This is a very popular workshop so book early to avoid disappointment.
