Jermyn of Rushbrooke

1 May, 2007

On Sunday 13 May at 2pm, Anthony Adolph co-presenter of BBC1’s Gene Detectives will be giving a lecture at Moyse’s Hall, Bury St Edmunds on Jermyn’s family, who were Lords of the Manor of Rushbrooke. The lecture costs £3.60 for adults and £3.10 for concessions and includes tea/coffee.

Anthony Adolph is a professional genealogist, broadcaster and writer. His third book, Full of Soup and Gold, is the biography of Henry Jermyn, Earl of St Albans (1605-1684). Builder of Jermyn Street and St James's in Westminster, London, Jermyn was the greatest and hitherto virtually unknown power behind the throne in Stuart England. He may possibly have also been the true father of Charles II. This book was shortlisted for the 2002 Biographer’s Club Prize and was published in December 2006. Copies of the book will be available on the day, or can be pre-ordered beforehand.

To book a place on this lecture please contact Moyse’s Hall on 01284 706183.
