Welcome to Suffolk Joint Emergency Planning Unit

Emergency planning in Suffolk is organised into a joint unit incorporating the emergency planning personnel of:

  • Babergh District Council
  • Forest Heath District Council
  • Mid-Suffolk District Council
  • St Edmundsbury Borough Council
  • Suffolk Coastal District Council
  • Suffolk County Council; and
  • Waveney District Council


The District Emergency Planning Officers provide a local service within their respective district/boroughs. The Joint Emergency Planning Unit for Suffolk is based at Suffolk County Council Headquarters in Ipswich, they will support the district/borough activities, and act as the county focal point for emergency preparedness and business continuity within Suffolk.
