Safer food, better business - workshops and coaching sessions

What will happen at the workshops and coaching sessions?

The workshops and coaching will provide delegates with help to enale them to implement the Safer Food Better Business Catering Pack to suit their business and to comply with the new food laws.

The coach will not complete the pack - it will remain the responsiblity of the food business operator to do this.

Who can attend?

Under the terms of our funding, the free workshops and follow up coaching sessions are available to medium risk small catering businesses in Suffolk, i.e. those that have been rated as a category C under the Food Standards Agency's Food Law Code of Practice.

We may be able to offer free assistance to other food businesses, e.g. retailrers, in the future, if there is sufficient demand and if further funding is made available.  We will publicise any further help that becomes available.

Please let us know in advance if you have any learning, language or physical difficulties so that specific arrangement can be made.

How much will the workshops and coaching cost a business?

We are able to provide the workshops and coaching because of our successful application for grant funding from the Government's Food Standards Agency but places are limited.  There will be no charge so long as delegates attend both the workshop and coaching session.  Once booked, if a delegate does not attend or cancels at short notice we will charge a fee to recover the costs.  Full details will be sent with offers of a plce on a workshop and follow up coaching session.

Do I have to attend a workshop or coaching session to omplement SFBB in my business?

No.  Since SFBB was launched we have seen many businesses successfully implement SFBB.  Some of these businesses attended one of the businesses briefings that were run in Suffolk during late 2005 and early 2006.  Others have worked through the pack on their won or with some guidance during routine visits by environmental health staff.  However, the workshops and coaching sessions are intended to give businesses some extra help.

When are the workshops and follow-up one-to-one coaching sessions being held?

The dates of the workshops and coaching session are given in the table below.  To book a place on a workshop and the follow-up one-to-one coaching sessions contact the host council.  If you prefer to book by post or fax you can download a booking form.  Fax or post your completed form to the council hosting the briefing you wish to attend (See Contacts for fax numbers and postal addresses).
