Community consultation

Parish plans

These are documents which include information about how residents would like to see their parish or village develop in the future. These plans are the result of lots of consultation with residents to find out exactly what they want, and not what people think they want.

If your village would like to complete a parish plan please visit: Suffolk ACRE or phone: 01473 345300.

Community consultation

Neighbourhood plans

As a result of the Localism Act new rights will allow local communities to shape new development by coming together to prepare neighbourhood plans to decide where new homes and businesses should go; and what they should look like.

St Edmundsbury parish and town councils will lead the creation of neighbourhood plans, supported by St Edmundsbury Borough Council's Planning department. Once written, the plan will be independently examined and put to a referendum of local people for approval.

For more information please visit: www.communities.gov.uk or contact the borough council's Planning department by email at: ldf@stedsbc.gov.uk or by phone at: 01284 757368.
