Dealing with pollution incidents

old tankPollution incidents, which could lead to serious land contamination, need to be dealt with effectively and promptly to avoid harm to human health, property or the environment. Prevention should always be the first step. Pollution incidents should be reported to the appropriate authority as soon as possible in order that effective action can be taken. The emergency services should be contacted where life or property is threatened.
