Housing Grants

St Edmundsbury Borough Council offers a range of grants and loans to owner occupiers, landlords and tenants to help fund repair and improvement works to their homes.

  • If you are on an income-related or disability benefit you may be eligible for one of our grants under our Healthy Homes scheme.  These are for providing additional home security, improved energy efficiency, carrying out minor repairs or improvements to your home to make it safe to live in.
  • Loans are also available to owner occupiers to bring them up to the Decent Home Standard.
  • Landlords may also apply for either a renovation grant or a private sector leasing grant, again to bring them up to the Decent Home Standard subject to them agreeing to certain conditions in respect of nomination rights and affordable rents.
  • Disabled Facilities Grants are available to adapt homes to meet the needs of disabled occupiers.
