In 2008 St Edmundsbury Borough Council carried out a Private Sector House Condition Survey which gave us a detailed picture of the housing conditions in our area. The information from the survey has been used to inform our Homes Assistance Policy and the help owners need to maintain and improve their homes. the survey showed that the main hazard in homes is "excess cold" and poor thermal efficiency, and our grants have been developed to tackle these problems.
