Housing Grants

 

In 2008 St Edmundsbury Borough Council carried out a Private Sector House Condition Survey which gave us a detailed picture of the housing conditions in our area. The information from the survey has been used to inform our Homes Assistance Policy and the help owners need to maintain and improve their homes.  the survey showed that the main hazard in homes is "excess cold" and poor thermal efficiency, and our grants have been developed to tackle these problems.

Healthy Homes Grant - To qualify for this grant you must be in receipt of an income or disability related benefit.

Warm Front Top-up Grant - This grant is available to applicants who qualify under the government's Warm Front scheme.

Thermal Comfort Grant - Energy efficiency measures for households on a low income.

Decent Homes Grant - Helpt to improve homes to the Decent Homes Standard. To qualify for this grant you must be in receipt of an income or disability related benefit.

Decent Homes Plus Grant - Help to improve homes to the Decent Homes Standard. To qualify for this grant you must be on a low income.

Mandatory Disabled Facilities Grant  - A grant to help towards the cost of adapting a property to meet the needs of a disabled occupant.

Discretionary Disabled Persons Grants - Two disretionary grants are available: a "top-up" grant and a relocation grant.
