Most of us accept that some of the money we pay in taxes contributes towards helping people who have fallen on hard times and the benefit system is there to provide that support. However, every year fraudsters cost the public billions of pounds and St Edmundsbury Borough Council is committed to preventing benefit fraud and to prosecute those who abuse the system.
If you suspect someone of committing Housing and Council Tax benefit fraud you can:

- leave a message on the answerphone which is open 24 hours a day;
- speak to an officer on the Authority’s hotline during normal office hours; or
- visit our offices and speak to an officer personally in an interview room.
