Business Rates payments

Business Rates can be paid:

  • in monthly installments currently on the 1st of each month;
  • half yearly currently on the 1st of April and September; or
  • in a lump sum when you receive your bill.

You can pay us:

  • over the Internet. Use our online payment facility
  • direct debit – all you have to do is complete a Direct Debit instruction form (PDF 28Kb)and send it to us, then each month on the due dates we will ask your bank for payment direct from your bank account. You will not have to write out a cheque or even remember when your payments are due!

Alternatively, complete the form on the back of your bill, or contact us for a form. Other ways to pay are by:

  • cash at any of the council's cash offices.
  • cheque– made payable to the St Edmundsbury Borough Council and crossed. Your account reference must be quoted on the reverse of the cheque. Post-dated cheques are not acceptable.
  • Standing Order – you should raise this at your own Bank. Your non-domestic rate account number must be quoted when making payment.
