Skin piercing registration

 

 

Anyone carrying out ear piercing, tattooing, acupuncture or electrolysis in the borough must be registered with the council.

The council has adapted byelaws which cover the cleanliness and hygiene of premises, practioners and equipment. These byelaws are intended to prevent blood bourne virus infections occurring. Below are the current bylaws for:

New byelaws covering all cosmetic piercing (including body piercing and semi-permanent skin colouring) are due to be adopted shortly.

The fee is currently £75.00 per treatment type, per person, per premise.
