Double yellow lines and other formal parking restrictions require a Traffic Regulation Order.  This requires consultation with people who may be affected by any restrictions on parking together with an advert declaring our intentions.  This process can take up to six months.

Parking restrictions in Bury St Edmunds are reviewed on an annual basis and a programme of amendments and new orders are advertised based on requests made to the council.
