Smart shopping
It is important to reduce the amount of packaging you buy. Consider packaging alternatives when buying food and try to avoid buying items that appear over packaged. Over three million shopping bags in the Anglian region are handed out weekly. Re-use your carrier bags or you can buy strong re-usable shopping bags from most supermarkets, or use a cloth bag.

Junk mail
Junk mail is something most of us would prefer to do with out. The Mail Preference Service is a free service that will remove your details from company databases and prevent some unsolicited mail coming through your door. However this service will not stop unaddressed mail from getting through to you.
To stop unaddressed mail delivered by the Royal Mail please see Opt out for further details. You can also prevent Yellow Pages from being delivered to your doorstep, an especially useful service if you tend to use the Internet. Please phone 0800 671444 to stop future deliveries.
