Performance

We use lots of information to check how well we are performing. We publish data which measures performance across a range of services. Specific data is collected by councils and we can compare our performance with others.

In addition to this annual reporting, we also have a set of data which is reported to councillors four times per year. These are called Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This set of data is designed to provide a summary of the council's overall performance and is reviewed every year to ensure that we are collecting data that is relevant to the areas on which we want to focus

We also monitor complaints to make sure that we are learning from feedback and improving services. A corporate complaints and compliments digest is published twice a year which summarises complaints received and how these have been dealt with together with the services that received compliments.

Central government data requirements

Central government published the list of all their data requirements from local authorities in April 2011. This list has now been updated to include all 2011-12 requirements from arm's length bodies, non-ministerial departments and other public bodies.

This data set lists every piece of data that central government requires from councils and from arms length bodies.
