Listed parks and gardens

Historic parks and gardens are an important part of the country’s heritage. The best examples are included in a Register of Parks and Gardens by English Heritage. Unlike listed buildings, the register does not provide any legal protection but it does mean that the historic interest of a park or garden is identified and must be taken into consideration when dealing with planning applications or highway proposals. The Register also helps owners to understand their sites and maintain and enhance them.

There are four parks and gardens in St Edmundsbury on the Register;

Euston Park Abbey Ruins Ickworth Park
