Hanchett Village, Haverhill
Two specially-adapted new homes, designed and built to address the day-to-day needs of families living with their disabled children, have recently been handed over at a housing development at Hanchett End, part of the larger Hanchett Village estate, Haverhill.
Both families worked closely with architects, developers, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Housing Society and Iceni Homes from the design stage to make sure the shape of the homem and the internal lay-outs can best support their particular needs.
The site includes 42 affordable homes for rent and is a mix of one and two-bedroom flats, two and three-bedroom houses and the two specially adapted homes. They will be managed by Suffolk Housing Society.
