Chapel

Haverhill Cemetery has a traditional red brick built chapel with seating for approximately 35 people. It has hymn books for people who want to use them and there is a small electric organ. There is also a hearing loop system to assist hearing impaired people.

Memorial trees and benches

Dedicating a tree, or a bench sometimes helps people to come to terms with their loss and creates a special place for friends and family to visit and to remember and reflect. Occasionally memorial trees and benches become available with a plaque at various locations within the cemetery. For more information contact the Cemeteries Registrar on 01284 757068.

Vehicle access

Apart from vehicles attending funeral services, vehicular access into the sites is restricted to Blue Badge holders only.

Facilities

There are litter bins, public toilets and watering points.

Leases for all cremated remains plots are for 25 years, but may be extended in due course.

Full burial graves

In the cemetery we can still offer full burial graves. Each new grave will be excavated to a depth of 2.75m (approximately 9ft) which is in accordance with current cemetery regulations. This will enable the grave to accommodate up to three full burials and several cremated remains. All new grave are sold with a 50 year lease, which can be extended in due course.

Burial in an existing grave

If you already have an existing family grave in the cemetery, arrangements can be made for the interment of cremated remains in this grave providing the deed holder’s permission is given or if the deed holder is the deceased. Further inscription of the memorial can be arranged under the same conditions. If you need help with finding a family grave please contact us on the details below.
