Freedom of the Borough and medal presentation, 22 July 2010

 

St Edmundsbury Borough Council awarded the Freedom of the Borough (PDF 48Kb) to 3 Regiment Army Air Corps 22 July 2010, with the Council Leader, Cllr John Griffiths, praising their bravery when proposing the motion (PDF 16Kb) for the award. After the formal council meeting, the regiment paraded on Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds, and Prince Charles, the Regiment's Colonel-in-Chief, presented the soldiers with campaign medals and gave a speech (PDF 17Kb), thanking the soldiers for their work in Afghanistan and the town for making them so welcome.
