Fixing memorials

When a memorial mason is carrying out work in the cemetery, they must have the relevant permit.

Memorial masons must contact the cemeteries administration office to arrange an appointment to carry out work in the cemetery.

Memorials may be put up during Monday to Friday when the cemetery is open. If a memorial mason causes any disruption to a funeral, we will forbid them from carrying out future work in the cemetery.

The Cemeteries Service is happy provide details of times of funerals and the notice boards at all entrances to the cemeteries carry details of forthcoming weeks funerals.

The grave identification reference and the name of the memorial mason must be cut clearly in 1 inch letters at the foot of each headstone or memorial. Trade telephone numbers are not allowed on memorials.

Memorial masons must never try to tout for business in the cemetery. If we find any person doing this, we will forbid them from carrying out work in our cemeteries.
