St Edmundsbury is committed to taking effective action to eliminate discrimination and to advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations in all that it does as an employer, a service provider and as a community leader.

We believe that all people are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect and we are determined to ensure that both our employees and everyone entitled to use our services receive fair and equitable treatment. We are committed to working with our partners and communities to promote good relations and to combat prejudice, discrimination and harassment.

This section of our website provides an overview of the actions we take to comply with the public sector Equality Duty. We are required to publish this information by 31 January 2012, and at least once a year after that.  However, we won't wait for an annual review, but will continue to make improvements and update this website as we make further progress to meet our equality duty.
