The former Malthouse in Risbygate Street is set for a new lease of life thanks to St Edmundsbury Borough Council working with St Matthew Housing. The historic building, until recently on the ‘at risk’ register, will be converted into a Heritage Centre with facilities for training, education and a café. It will also be the central office for St Matthew Housing, a charity which supports homeless or unsuitably housed people. For more information on the Malthouse Project, or to become a friend of the scheme, contact Richard Robinson on 01284 732555, or visit www.stmatthewhousing.org
