The council provides a chargeable collection service for bulky household waste items such as furniture or white goods (fridges, freezers, washing machines, three piece suites and so on). Collections must be pre-arranged and paid for in advance of collection.
Items for collection will need to be presented at or adjacent to your normal bin collection point. The council cannot enter private premises to collect these items.
Charges for the service are currently:
- bulky (internal) household items including other white goods £22.00 for five items and £3.00 for each additional item up to a maximum of ten items;
- fridge/freezer (domestic only) £20.00 per item.
Residents who are in receipt of certain benefits are eligible for a 50 percent discount on the above charges. Qualifying benefits are:
- Council Tax Benefit;
- Housing Benefit;
- Income Support;
- Jobseekers Allowance;
- Pensions Credit; and
- Working Tax Credit.

If you wish to claim the 50 percent discount you will need to provide proof of receipt of one of the benefits listed above.
