Important note: As a result of the adoption of the Core Strategy, elements of the St Edmundsbury Borough Replacement Local Plan Proposals Map have been updated: St Edmundsbury Proposals Map - December 2010 (PDF 4.6Mb)
The adopted Core Strategy supersedes some of the policies in the current Replacement Local Plan 2016: Superseded Replacement Local Plan policies (PDF 20Kb)
On 27 June 2006, St Edmundsbury Borough Council adopted the Replacement St Edmundsbury Borough Local Plan 2016. The adopted plan forms part of the development plan for the area of St Edmundsbury and forms the basis for decisions on land-use planning affecting that area.
Under the provisions of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, all policies in the Replacement Local Plan 2016 were initially saved for a period of three years. In April 2009 St Edmundsbury gained a Letter of approval from Go-East (PDF 36Kb) to save (with the exception of two) all of the Local Plans policies until its Local Development Framework documents are adopted.
