Conservation

The borough of St Edmundsbury has a rich architectural history with over 3000 listed buildings, 35 conservation areas, 69 scheduled ancient monuments and four listed parks and gardens.

The council's building conservation officers, Christine Leveson and Claire Johnson, provide help and advice on a whole range of conservation matters including repairs and alterations to listed buildings, finding specialist contractors and the design of new buildings in conservation areas.

You can contact them by telephone on 01284 757356 (Christine) or 757339 (Claire) or email conservation@stedsbc.gov.uk.

If you have a general query you can also contact the planning helpdesk on 01284 757675 or email planning.helpdesk@stedsbc.gov.uk.
