On Friday 26 October 2012 The apex will host international musical theatre star and local leading lady, Ruthie Henshall, on the first preview date of her brand new solo tour.
Ruthie has performed and created some of the greatest roles in musical theatre, in the West End and on Broadway. Having given unforgettable performances in Cats, Les Miserables, Chicago and She Loves Me (for which she won an Olivier Award), and having successfully toured across the globe, Ruthie has enjoyed an extraordinary career.
Voted the nation's most popular musical theatre actress, after starring in Crazy for You, there is huge demand for Ruthie to tour across the UK and internationally. This brand new show is a unique opportunity to enjoy an intimate evening with one of the nation's most sought-after performers.
Ruthie and her band will take the audience on a musical journey where Ruthie will share her story in her own words and perform specially chosen songs which she feels best define her life onstage and off.
Ruthie and the rest of the team at Three Pin Productions are delighted to be previewing this special tour in Bury St Edmunds. Musical Director, Paul Schofield, commented 'This town is the home of Three Pin Productions. All three of us have spent most of our lives in this region and Polly and I began our careers here'.
Polly Ingham, the Producer of Three Pin Productions, said 'Ruthie and Paul have been developing the piece for months already and this performance at the Apex will be its first full airing. It is great to be kicking off from heart of East Anglia and to be able to offer the people of Bury St Edmunds the opportunity to be a part of this very personal show's development.'
An Intimate Evening with Ruthie Henshall will undertake a mid-scale tour in Spring 2013 when Ruthie and Paul return from performing in New York.
The concert at The apex is on 26 October and starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20. Ring the box office on 01284 75800 or see the website - www.theapex.co.uk.
