A waterless car valeting is being launched on St Edmundsbury Borough Council's cattlemarket / arc car park in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday 29 September.
Car park customers are being offered the service following a tendering process that saw the two year contract being awarded to local company, Pro Distribution 1st Ltd.
Cllr Terry Clements, St Edmundsbury Borough Council Cabinet member whose portfolio includes car parking said,
"We run some of the busiest car parks in the region and we have very high standards. When we decided to introduce a valeting service it had to deliver across the board, on value for money, environmentally and on customer service. I am delighted that a local company came out top in the tough tendering process."
Paul Morrant of Pro Distribution 1st Ltd said,
"Our valeting is environmentally smart, fast and mess free. It gives a professional valet finish and protects the paintwork, especially useful in winter months. We are a local company, our product is manufactured for us in East Anglia and we recruit locally. Valeting costs from £7.50 and takes about 30 minutes to do an average car, parked in a regular bay. Visitors just park, pay and come back to a sparkly car. We aim to give great customer service, no question. We are very pleased to be working in Bury St Edmunds."
Cameron Findlay, St Edmundsbury Parking Services Manager said
"We have Park Mark awards for our car parks in Bury St Edmunds and the Cattlemarket / arc is the biggest in terms of spaces and the number of parking events. The valeting service had to be the best and I am very pleased to be working with Pro Distribution 1st Ltd.
