Matthew appears at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 16 September, paying tribute to the great interpreters of the Great American Songbook.'Matthew Ford's Swing Legends' features his stunning nine-piece band, made up of some of the country's finest musicians, and is a must see for lovers of the music of Frank Sinatra, Matt Monro, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole. The evening will include songs such as Mack The Knife, Portrait of My Love, For Once in My Life, Birth of The Blues and Feeling Good among many others.
Far from being a sound-a-like, Matthew has developed his own style, following 13 years performing with the likes of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, BBC Big Band, and all of the major UK Orchestras.
A regular featured artist on BBC Radio 2's 'Friday Night is Music Night', you can hear Matthew perform on the programme on the 7 September at 8pm in 'A Tribute to Irving Berlin' with the sixty-piece BBC Concert Orchestra.
