Community development grants
Grants to support substance misuse projects are now available

Revenue grants are available to support initiatives which address substance misuse. Up to £2500 is available annually for core funding. Between £250 and £2500 can be applied for to support one-off projects. May be awarded to cover periods of up to three years.

Applications can be made by any constituted organisation working to tackle drug or alcohol problems in St Edmundsbury. Download the Grants Application Form - Substance Misuse 2012 (PDF 84KB).

The council is committed to supporting voluntary organisations and community groups which operate within St Edmundsbury and whose services support the councils aims and objectives.


The council's grants schemes include:


Rural Initiatives Grant Scheme (RIGS): Capital grants awarded from £250 to £10,000 towards community projects. We also have several grants available for specific projects as part of our Rural Action Plan


Core funding: To help voluntary and community organisations with their running costs. Examples include The Citizens Advice Bureau, The Volunteer Centres and the YMCA.


Grants for less than £250: This currently includes annual grants to resident associations.
